Cloy Clark Ebersol
I made friends with Cloy after I heard of him helping my neighbor friend with her groceries. He had a great big heart and a bigger personality. His sense of humor was perfectly complemented by his quick wit.
I remember him telling his story, about how he lost both of his parents at an early age and got to know the streets better than one maybe should.
This picture was taken during a brief period when Cloy and his girlfriend were staying with me when I lived in Tallmadge.
Shortly after this, I purchased my home and moved to Canton, where we crossed paths several times. He even eagerly helped me with some home projects.
Unfortunately, our paths would cross only once more, at his memorial service.
Cloy overdosed and died, at 29, on May 6, 2017.
He left behind a daughter he adored.
Every time I head that Twenty One Pilots song, "Addict with a Pen", I think of him.
Oftentimes it still hurts.
